A hamfest is a flea market where vendors offer new or used amateur radio equipment and components. It also tends to be a place where hams grab a bite to eat and chat with friends. Beside providing a place for hams to buy things and/or socialize, Cherryville’s hamfest offers VE exams for those wanting to obtain their first amateur radio license or upgrade to a higher class of license.
